Folkestone Swimming Club is affiliated to the Amateur Swimming Association.  In order to ensure that affiliated clubs offer quality swimming programmes the ASA has developed an accreditation programme called 'SWIM 21'.  This provides a benchmark against which clubs can measure themselves.  We achieved the standard of 'Teaching Club' in November 2006, but continual review and revalidation is required in order to maintain the Swim 21 status.

Please take the time to download and read the documents contained in this section of our website, they are important to all members - swimmers, guardians and volunteers.

In Folkestone Swimming Club we believe that the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility.  Everyone - administartor, official, coach, parent, friend and the children themselves can help.  The section on the right 'Child Protection' includes the club policies, along with the document 'WAVEPOWER' which is the ASA Child Protection Policy.  Again, please take the time to read this policy as it has helpful information about detection and what to do should an incidence be suspected.

Remember: The child's welfare is the first consideration.
