A SUPER DAY, WITH A SUPERSTAR!

On Sunday 21st November three of our swimmers/lifesavers: Abbie, Ashlea & Lucy went to a days seminar about Kent Talented sportsman. It was offered to all the people who have FANS cards (these girls obtained theirs through Life-saving) which are granted by Kent County Council.
The DAME KELLY HOLMES LEGACY TRUST  ran the actual meeting which was split into three main groups competitors, coaches and parent/carers. For the children there was talks about nutrition, media, confidence building and circuit training. They were split into groups and all did different things whilst parent/carers had talks on again nutrition, general well being and parenting skills for athletes! Whilst the coaches had very similar things as well as physio as well.
Throughout the day Dame Kelly Holmes hosted different sessions so got to speak to most people. She also did the opening and closing of the day giving lots of info, help & support to all of us.
At the end of the day, Dame Kelly waited to sign autographs and have pictures taken for whoever requested it, nothing was too much trouble for her a very calm and sincere lady who has a lot time for the youth of today and helping in whatever way possible.
